LYNN — Emergency crews used the Jaws of Life to extract a driver from a vehicle following a serious crash on Euclid Avenue Friday night.
Lynn Fire Capt. Joseph Zukas said firefighters responded to a report of a vehicle that hit a pole at around 11:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, first responders discovered three of the vehicle’s passengers had been able to extract themselves from the vehicle, but the fourth occupant, the driver, remained inside, Zukas said.
The Jaws of Life were used to extricate the driver, who was then medflighted to Massachusetts General Hospital with serious injuries. One other occupant was transported to Salem Hospital with unknown injuries, Zukas said.
Zukas said speed is believed to have been a contributing factor to the crash. All of the vehicle’s occupants were in their 20s and were reportedly not wearing seatbelts.
