The Peabody baseball team couldn’t stop hitting on Wednesday afternoon, rolling to a 20-9 win over Northeastern Conference foe Winthrop on the road at Little League Field.
Three Tanners combined for an impressive 11 RBI in the victory, with Juan Tolentino having the biggest day after going 4-for-6 with four RBI. Cam Cuzzi went 2-for-3 with four RBI and four runs scored, while Ryan Knight had a 3-for-3 day with three RBI and two runs scored. Nick Villano (3-for-6) and Giovani Guglielmo (3-for-4) each added three hits and three runs scored in the win.
On the mound, it was Dom Annese who picked up the victory. Annese pitched four scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and notching six strikeouts.

BASEBALL
Marblehead 9, Salem 2
For the second game in a row, the Magicians rode a five-run third inning all the way to victory.
Craig Michalowski (2-for-4) and Charlie Titus (1-for-3) each had two RBI in the win, while Schuyler Schmitt (1-for-2) had one RBI.
Jacob Sherf earned the win on the mound, tossing five innings and allowing one run on three hits with 11 strikeouts.
Marblehead (4-2) travels to Masconomet Friday (4).
For Salem, Ethan Doyle and Jon Wasserman each went 1-for-3 with one RBI in the loss. Tommy Beauregard added two hits, while Jack Doyle, Robert Palacios and Bobby Jellison each had one hit.

Bishop Stang 6, St. Mary’s 3
After going into the top of the fifth inning with a 2-1 lead, the Spartans allowed five runs over the final three innings in the loss Wednesday afternoon.
Deniel Ortiz and Terence Moynihan each had two hits and one RBI in the loss, while Tad Giardina also had one RBI.
John Nowicki took the loss on the mound, allowing four runs on six hits with four strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings of work.
St. Mary’s (4-4) plays on the road at Bishop Feehan Saturday afternoon (12).
Bishop Fenwick 5, Cardinal Spellman 1
Gianni Mercurio notched the lone RBI for the Crusaders in the win, while Scott Emerson and Christian Loescher added two hits apiece.
Loescher also earned the win on the mound, tossing five scoreless innings and allowing one hit with seven strikeouts.

Jackson Field had four goals and two assists for the Spartans while Zach Barden had three goals and two assists. Seamus Foley had three goals. Max Field had one goal and one assist.

Liam Hill continued his blazing start to the season, notching six goals and two assists in the win for the Crusaders. Manny Alvarez-Segee and Anthony Sasso each had two goals and three assists, while Tyler Mullen had two goals and one assist. Jake Connolly and Ryan McGann each scored one goal, with McGann notching his first career varsity goal.

The Spartans finally got over the hump Wednesday, recording their first win of the season.
Avery Laundry led the way with an impressive six goals in the victory Wednesday, while Hannah Coleman was close behind with four goals.

Karina Gyllenhaal led the offensive attack with two goals, while Kayla Carlin, Mia Tsarparlis and Brynn Bertucci each scored one goal. Paige Littlehale, Sophia Pregent, Eve Watson and Jenna Durkin all played well defensively, while Ava Molineaux made five saves.

The Magicians got singles wins from junior Aidan Ryan (6-0, 6-1), senior co-captain Daniel Farfel (6-0, 6-0) and senior Matt Walker (6-0, 6-0), while the doubles team of senior co-captain Christopher Thompson and junior Cooper Dalton and the doubles team of junior Nate Bowden and junior Jack Fobert each swept their respective matches (6-0, 6-0).

Lynnfield 5, Newburyport 0
The Pioneers got singles wins from Harrison Luba (6-0, 6-1), Jamil Khodr (6-0, 6-0) and Dan Levin (6-1, 6-1). The doubles teams of David Kasdon and Jason Yang (6-2, 7-5) and Rafik Khodr and Russell Kasdon (6-1, 6-4) also earned wins.
Lynnfield (4-0) travels to Pentucket Friday (3:30).
GIRLS TENNIS

All three singles winners for the Magicians — Jessie Munroe, Cannan Whittier and Tess Keaney — all won their singles matches 6-0, 6-0. In doubles play, the team of Libby Rosen and Ava Ullian won their match 6-0, 6-0 and the team of Maddie Conlon and Charly Cooper won their match 6-0, 3-0 (injury default).

BOYS TRACK
Masconomet 112, Saugus 23
Jarod DeSousa had a big day in the loss for the Sachems, winning the high jump (6-0), the long jump (18-7) and the 100-meter (12.0). The only other winner for Saugus was Chas Bono in the one-mile (5:27.6).

The lone winner on the day for the Sachems was Madi Femino, who took first in the shot put (24-3).
