SAUGUS — The town’s Public Safety building will reopen to the public Saturday, Police Chief Michael Ricciardelli said.
On May 29, members of the public will be permitted to enter the building, which houses the town’s police and fire departments and has been closed since last spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Out of “an abundance of caution,” Ricciardelli said visitors will still be asked to wear a mask while inside.
“We are looking forward to welcoming our community back inside the Public Safety building,” Ricciardelli said. “We ask that residents be mindful of the fact that the pandemic has not truly come to an end yet, which is why we ask that all visitors continue to wear masks for the time being.”
The department is urging those who have not already done so to look into getting vaccinated.
There is no charge to be vaccinated, and doses can be found locally by visiting vaxfinder.mass.gov.
