The Marblehead baseball team took home its seventh consecutive victory Friday evening, knocking off Northeastern Conference foe Swampscott by a score of 12-8 at Forest Ave. Park.
The Magicians were led by Thomas Groom, who went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Shane Keough went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI, while Sami Loughlin, Charlie Titus, Matthew Titus and Andrew Titus each had one RBI.
James Doody earned the win in relief, tossing three innings and allowing four runs on three hits with four strikeouts. Albino Neto, Liam McIlroy and Damien King also saw time on the mound for Marblehead.
For the Big Blue, Aidan Graciale went 1-for-2 with a triple and two RBI, while Connor Correnti went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Jonah Cadorette and Matthew McIntire each had one RBI.
Swampscott (4-4) travels to Danvers Monday (10).
Marblehead (8-2) hosts Beverly Monday (10).
SOFTBALL
St. Mary’s 13, Beverly 1
Marina DiBiasio had a huge game at the plate for the Spartans, hitting a grand slam and knocking in six runs in the victory. Sophia LeBert and Emely Rodriguez also hit home runs in the win.
Lily Newhall continued her dominant season in the circle, striking out seven batters to earn the victory.
St. Mary’s (11-2) hosts Austin Prep Monday afternoon (12).
Saugus 5, Winthrop 3
The Sachems rallied back after trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth inning to earn the victory.
Leah Ventre had a great game on both sides of the field, tossing a complete game in the circle (three runs on four hits with 11 strikeouts) and going 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored at the plate.
Also contributing to the offense were Alexa Ferraro (2-for-3, double, RBI), Kirby Dalton (2-for-4, triple, RBI), Fallon Millerick (1-for-2, RBI), Devany Millerick (RBI) and Ryann Moloney (one hit).
Winthrop hosts Danvers Monday (1).
Saugus (7-1) hosts Marblehead Monday (4).

Jake Vana led the scoring attack with three goals, while Luke Surette was close behind with two goals and one assist. Pierce Blaeser and Nate Jones each scored two goals, Jackson DeSanto had one goal and three assists and Michael Kelly had one goal and one assist. Tommy Sarni, Charlie Wilmot, Jimmy Ellard, Max Perault and Lucas Verrier each scored one goal.

The Jets held a one-goal lead in the last three minutes of play but just couldn’t hold on to secure their first win of the season.
Liam Donovan led the way for Lynn with six goals. Collin Donovan and Jarrod Bennett each had one goal. Judens Prosper had 12 saves in goal.
