LYNN — Police are seeking a 36-year-old man who was involved in an armed standoff Saturday morning at a Liberty Street home, and who may have left behind a loaded firearm magazine when he fled the second-floor apartment.
Police said they received a call at 7:15 a.m. Saturday about an “unwanted guest” at 51 Liberty St. When police arrived, they said they saw a man, and that one of the officers thought he saw a weapon in the man’s hand. Also, police said, the woman who called yelled out that he had a gun.
The officers went in after the man, police said. Also, because local police thought he might have barricaded himself inside the apartment, the state police STOP, also referred to as a SWAT team, was summoned.
By the time officers were able to get inside the apartment, the suspect had fled, having jumped out a second-floor window, police said. They confirmed this by viewing a video of the incident a few hours later, police said.
While the man is still at large, police said he left behind a fully-loaded magazine with ammunition.
