The St. Mary’s boys lacrosse team got the job done on the road Monday, topping Weymouth 6-2 in a tight interleague contest.
Jack Silva led the way for the Spartans with three goals. Zach Barden wasn’t far behind with two goals and one assist, while Jackson Field tacked on a goal and two assists.
On the defensive end goalkeeper Daniel Domeniconi was dominant again in net with nice saves. Max Field played great defense in front of him with seven ground balls and one assist.
St. Mary’s (6-3) hosts Archbishop Williams Tuesday (2:30).
BOYS LACROSSE
Bishop Fenwick 14, Matignon 5
Liam Hill had another big day offensively with six goals and one assist to lead the Crusaders to the win. Aiden Anthony added three goals and one assist. Max Grenert, Tyler Mullen, Anthony Sasso, Brady McClung, and Ryan McGann all had one goal each. Manny Alvarez Segee had five assists and Jake Connolly picked up 11 ground balls. George Kostolias had eight saves in net.
Fenwick (4-4) is right back at it against Bishop Feehan Tuesday (4) at Donaldson Stadium.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Austin Prep 15, St. Mary’s 2
The Spartans fell to their Catholic Central League foes despite a two-goal performance from Chloe Puzzo.
St. Mary’s is right back in action Tuesday (3:30) at Archbishop Williams.
BASEBALL
Lynnfield 14, Triton 8
Lynnfield (5-6) is at North Reading Thursday (4).
Xaverian 2, St. John’s Prep 1
Shane Williams and Nick Solitro each had two hits in the loss for the Eagles, while DJ Pacheco and Matt Mitchell each had one hit.
Sam Belliveau took the tough-luck loss on the mound, pitching six innings and allowing two runs on three hits with three strikeouts.
St. John’s Prep (8-2) hosts BC High Thursday afternoon (4).
BOYS TRACK
Danvers 113, Winthrop 23
Chris Cappuccio was the lone winner for the Vikings, taking first in both the high jump (5-6) and the 200-meter (23.3).
Winthrop runs against Saugus next Tuesday (4).
GIRLS TRACK
Danvers 81, Winthrop 49
Nora McCarey notched three wins for Winthrop, taking first in the long jump (13-3), the 100 (14.3) and the 200 (29.3). The Vikings also got a win from Bea Holzbach in the triple jump (31-6 1/2).
Winthrop runs against Saugus next Tuesday (4).
