Lynn Woods Summer running finishes second session

LYNN — Lynn Woods Summer Running wrapped up its second session of the season Wednesday with another trio of races. The races ranged from another 1.59-mile kids race, a 2.5-mile adult race and longer 5.5-mile adult race. 

In the kids race, Andrew Skeirik (11, 11:19) and Caroline Skeirik (5, 15:37) of Melrose took the top two spots. Coming in next were four straight Lynnfield residents in Elle Ferguson (6, 17:37), Emily Conlon (6, 17:42), Marne Capolupo (4, 17:43) and Emma Ferguson (5, 22:33). Rounding out the top 10 finishers were Lynn’s Leah Conlon (3, 25:45), Lynn’s Carter Cheever (4, 27:25), Lynn’s Bridgette Lally (5, 22:41) and Salem’s Abigail Lamothe (4, 35:35).

The first adult race of the day was a 2.5 mile loop out and back into Lynn Woods. Winthrop’s Nikolas Beshere came out on top with a time of 15:29. Second and third place went to Reading’s Dave Singer (18:40) and Lynn’s Rachel Dewolf (19:28). Chelsea’s Scott Arrington (19:31) and Beverly’s Tom Lubas (20:02) were next, while 7-year-old James Wilson III (20:41) impressed everyone by coming in sixth place. Rounding out the top 15 were Andrea Saccardo (Peabody, 20:43), James Wilson (Lynn, 21:34), Beth Sullivan (Lynn, 22:16), Joshua Hilton (Lynn, 22:17), Deirdre Majeski (Salem 22:27), Paul Hennessey (Melrose, 22:38) and Lynn’s Krista Cuozzo (22:50) and Andrew Lindsey (23:01).

The longest race of the day, called the Tour de Woods, was a 5.5-mile run. Medford’s Daniel Zube (39:41) edged out Swampscott’s Nelson Knudsen (39:45) to take the top spot. Top five finishers included Beverly’s Erich O’Neill (44:30), Andover’s Craig Burns (45:03) and Melrose’s Jeff Cook (45:14). Rounding out the top 15 were Lynn’s Jim Pawlicki (45:36), Marblehead’s Sal Genovese (46:08), Salem’s Doug Smith (46:17), Lynn’s Brian Walfield (47:42), Lynnfield’s Sam Crosbie (48:15), Peabody’s Scott Somers (49:02), Marblehead’s Bob Callanan (49:18), Cambridge’s Andrew Kernytsky (49:41), Boxford’s Jeff Hixon (49:44) and Salem’s Michael Homan (49:51).
