It was a great weekend to be a St. John’s Prep fan, as the Eagles had a huge day at the MIAA All-State Track and Field Championships with two runners finishing as All-State champions to help the Prep finish second overall as a team with 37 total points.

Jarrett Young was the state champion in the 400-meter with a time of 48.9 seconds, while Nathan Lopez capped off his stellar year with a state title in the two-mile with a time of 9:06.

Young also put up a second-place finish in the 200 (21.9) to help the scoring for the Prep, while Lopez was a part of the 4×800 relay team — along with Nick de Melo, Declan Kelley and Graham MacDonald — that finished sixth with a time of 8:10. Other scorers for the Eagles on the day were Charlie Tuttle in the two-mile (sixth place, 9:12), Jason Bois in the 110 hurdles (seventh place, 15.35) and Stephon Patrick in the triple jump (eighth place, 43 feet).

A number of other local track and field athletes competed in the All-States over the weekend on the boys and girls side.

On the girls side, Peabody’s Jolene Murphy capped off her high school career by setting another school record, this time in the 400. Murphy finished fourth after running a time of 56.37, her fifth individual school record time as a member of the Tanners.

“She’s the greatest sprinter we’ve ever had for girls,” Peabody coach Fernando Braz said of Murphy, who will be running at Boston College next year.

Elsewhere in the girls events, Peabody’s Lindsey Wilson finished eighth in the high jump (5-2), Lynnfield’s Jasmine Rose finished 10th in the 100 (26.28), Peabody’s Arlene Davila finished ninth in the shot put (33-10 1/4) and 12th in the discus (94-1), Lynnfield’s April Luders finished ninth in the pentathlon (2627 points) and Peabody’s Aaliyah Alleyne finished 11th in the pentathlon (2461 points).

On the boys side, Marblehead’s Cam Heafitz finished second in the high jump (6-6), Marblehead’s Ciro Martin Sotos finished sixth in the 800 (1:56.24), Peabody’s Joel Lisoma finished eighth in the 400 hurdles (57.72), Revere’s James Clauto finished ninth in the high jump (6-2), Peabody’s Brandon Glass finished ninth in the shot put (49-5 3/4), Saugus’ Jarod DeSousa finished 17th in the high jump (5-10), Winthrop’s Chris Cappuccio placed 17th in the 200 (23.45), the team of KIPP’s Ricardo Maestre, Daniel Oluwasuyi, Victor Mafo and Joel Aguero finished sixth in the 4×100 relay (43.99) and the team of Peabody’s Daviel Canela, Eli Batista, Gabriel Delacruz and Colin Ridley finished 14th in the 4×100 relay (44.66).
