To the editor:
I am sad to see Lou Gallo’s sudden passing. Lou has been considered the key town historian for decades, and has been instrumental in sharing stories of Swampscott’s town history to many residents and the community for all these years.
He has been the de facto expert in sharing periods of Swampscott’s history, lending a personal perspective to many known stories and events in town, which adds something only a longtime resident can convey. For all his participation in the town he loved, Lou will be missed.
