REVERE — Revere Beach staple Bianchi’s Pizza reopened last week in a new location.
The beloved pizza counter announced its closure in 2018 when the building in which it was formerly located was sold to make way for a high-rise apartment building. Now, it is right down the street at 381 Revere Beach Blvd.
“We knew we were gonna be busy, but this is next level,” the owners of the restaurant wrote on Facebook on July 15, the day they reopened. “We are all so grateful that everyone missed us as much as we missed you! It’s great to be back at our home on Revere Beach.”
Bianchi’s moved to the space temporarily after the 2018 closure, sharing it with Renzo’s Pizza until the latter pizzeria closed in November. Renzo’s has since moved to Salem, giving Bianchi’s full run of the space. It now offers a full bar, dining room and patio.
The restaurant is using the same family recipe it has followed since it opened in 1952, when it was owned by Anthony Bianchi. Anthony’s nephew, Bobby, continues to operate the restaurant today.
“We started on the beach — we want to stay on the beach,” Bobby Bianchi told The Item in 2018 when the former location closed. “I don’t have children, so this is how I’m going to carry on my name.”
