LYNN — For the second time in the past three years, Jon Gagnon took home the Gannon Golf Club men’s club championship after putting together a fantastic weekend.
Gagnon put together a four-day score of 287, edging out Ben Friedman in second place by one shot in the championship flight.
Friedman’s 288 was good enough for a solo second place finish, and it was really a two-man race between Gagnon and Friedman. Three players — defending 2020 club champion John Boland, John Lynch Jr. and Sean Winchell — finished tied for third place with a four-day total score of 299.
There were also two other championship divisions for the men over the weekend, with Mike Chakoutis winning the net division for the second straight year and Frank Dunn taking home the win in the senior division.
Chakoutis put up a four-day total score of 282 to earn the win, while Brett Kennison shot a score of 287 to finish in second place. Bob Bogart and Patrick McHale finished in a tie for third place with identical scores of 288.
Dunn came away with his third win in four years in the senior division with a score of 312. Tony Ferrini and Steve Gorman tied for second place with scores of 315.
The next big event on the Gannon men’s Inner Club calendar is the annual Silver Classic, which will take place from Aug. 21-22.
