SAUGUS — The Commonwealth Amateur Baseball League (CABL) recently made a big contribution to the efforts to get Saugus’ World Series Park lit up at night, as the league made a generous donation of $5,000 to the World Series Park Lighting Fund.
The CABL has been playing games at World Series Park for the past nine years. The league is made up of 13 teams from the Greater Boston and North Shore areas.
In addition to games, the league sponsors a Coaches vs. Cancer tournament at the park every season.
“World Series Park appreciates this very generous donation to our lighting fund from the CABL,” said World Series Park Superintendent Bob Davis. “Over the past nine seasons, they have shown lots of support and respect for our facility. We look forward to many years of our great relationship.”
The World Series Park Lighting Fund is growing. It has almost reached its goal, but more funds are needed. Anyone who donates $100 or more can get their name or the name of a departed loved one on the permanent lighting fund plaque and will be invited to the dedication ceremony and reception, which will be held as soon as the installation of the lights is completed.
Donations can be made by sending a check payable to World Series Park, at 8 Holden Ave., Saugus, MA 01906.
Donations can also be made online by going to www.worldseriespark.net and donating through the GoFundMe Charity account.
