SAUGUS — When you walk into the television studio on 30 Main Street you can see the improvements that have been made.

After having a small studio inside of the high school, Saugus TV now has a brand new studio filled with plenty of toys for creators to play with. With new greenscreens, light setup, teleprompter and various other equipment upgrades, the possibilities are endless for residents looking to create their own TV show.

The community television channel has been at their new location for almost a year and have been able to expand their programming thanks to the new space. Residents can utilize a podcast studio, as well as a full kitchen that can be used for cooking shows.

Now that the move is out of the way, Executive Director Bryan Nadeau is hoping to invite the community in as well as to continue teaching youth classes. Saugus TV offers production classes and editing classes for community members.

“A lot of it is hands-on experience or one-on-one classes so that we can tailor it to their specific needs,” said Nadeau.

Nadeau had a long wait for this day. When he was brought into the program he was told not to make any significant changes, as the studio would move to a different location. Now, with the new building, Saugus TV has all the tools to make the magic happen.

“We’re all excited that we’re finally up to industry standard. We can do the things that we wanted to without looking subpar in our eyes as professionals,” said Nadeau.

Prior to the move, it would take weeks to get a show on the air; now it takes just hours, according to Nadeau.

“It’s a lot easier on the staff,” he said. “It’s a lot easier on the volunteers, and the productions come out looking a lot better.”

Saugus TV is looking to start fundraising as another way to generate revenue for the station. Nadeau mentioned that he is looking for sponsors and possible underwriting packages.

Nadeau wants residents to feel comfortable coming into the studio and realizing that it is a space for them.

“It’s all theirs as much as it is ours,” he said.

On Sept. 11 Saugus TV will be hosting an open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
