LYNN — A Central Square building partially collapsed Thursday while it was being demolished.

According to Building Commissioner Michael Donovan, the building, which was owned by Procopio Companies, was being demolished to make way for a new 10-story development.

Nobody was injured in the collapse, and a structural engineer inspected the abutting building to ensure that there is no damage.

A Procopio spokesperson said that the facade of the building was being demolished, there was no damage to abutting structures and the construction team is ready to move on to the next steps of the project.
