PEABODY — Peabody’s Black Box Theater is gearing up for a September to remember with a full schedule of family-friendly activities.
From Elvis impersonators to drag queens to concerts and magic shows, there is something for everyone at the Black Box this fall.
“Peabody’s Black Box will have a full lineup of fall entertainment,” said Peabody Main Streets Co-Chair of Promotions and Black Box Event Manager Lisa Geczi. “I think the backstory and vibe of this story are all the cool things happening again in downtown Peabody.”
On Thursday, Sept. 2, The Golden Gays of NYC (GGNYC) will present HOT Flashbacks!, a Golden Girls musical adventure from 7-8 p.m. GGNYC has emerged as the premier Golden Girls show in the country. Billed as the perfect drag show for the whole family, GGNYC burst onto the scene in 2017 ― first at RuPaul’s DragCon NYC, then at the famed Rue La Rue Café ― where their trivia-show video went viral. What began as a flash mob has now skyrocketed to sold-out engagements all across America. Through a series of hilarious “hot flashbacks,” these hip old grannies take the audience on a musical journey through the television show’s most memorable moments to find their Sophia (Petrillo), who has gone missing. One lucky audience member will be crowned the next #TokenSophia.
Available tickets include general admission ($25), with VIP and Super VIP upgrade options to meet the cast backstage and have a photo taken with cast members. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. For tickets, go to secure.qgiv.com/for/norar/event/833501/.

He is also a two-time Fan-Favorite Award Winner and three-time, top-10 finalist at the Ocean City, Md. Elvis Festival. Shows begin at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.
