To the editor:
We are not just real estate agents in Swampscott, we are your friends and neighbors.
Like you, we want the best things for our town ― including ensuring the highest possible value for our homes. This is why we support the proposed new twin elementary school and ask you to join us by giving this project your support, too.
Why? Because strong public schools build stronger communities and result in higher real estate values. Swampscott’s elementary schools are the fourth-oldest of any town in Massachusetts.
Just next door, Marblehead’s elementary schools are the newest of any town in Massachusetts. This is a key consideration for prospective buyers and results in many deciding on Marblehead, not Swampscott, as their new home.
Fewer prospective buyers mean lower home values. More prospective buyers mean higher home prices. We are confident that the projected new elementary school cost of not more than one dollar per day for the median single‐family home will more than pay for itself with increased property values, thereby resulting in a healthier real estate market in Swampscott and a stronger community ― all while doing right for our students.
Change is not easy and it is not free; we help families embrace change year in and year out.
We believe the new twin elementary school is a change that will result in a healthier real estate market in Swampscott and a stronger community.
Please join us in supporting the new twin elementary school at Town Meeting on Sept. 13 and at the townwide vote on Oct. 19.
Wishing you all the best,
