Letter: Lynn needs development

The Editors

September 14, 2021 by The Editors

To the editor:

I am writing to respond to L. Robert Nadeau’s letter “We need development” (Item, Sept. 8).

I agree with the writer when he states that without corporate development, Lynn — like any other community — will stagnate. As I stated in a letter several years ago, Lynn is a great city. It has many things going for it. If done correctly, good commercial development continues to boost the tax base.

Again, with this growth, Lynn needs to address new schools, another public safety building (fire/police substation), and address the needs of other public buildings, including the interior of the Lynn Public Library.

These are all important issues that a new mayor and City Council will need to address from day one of a new administration. The person I am supporting for mayor to continue moving Lynn forward is Darren Cyr.
