LYNN — A grand jury has indicted a Lynn man for a shooting on the day after Christmas that killed one man and injured five others.
Darwin Mejia, 22, is charged with one count each of murder, carrying a firearm without a license and possession of a large-capacity feeding device and five counts each of armed assault with intent to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
At approximately 5:35 p.m. Dec. 26, 2020, Lynn Police responded to the area of Quincy Terrace after receiving multiple calls about gunshots. Officers located six victims with gunshot wounds in the area; four were transported to Massachusetts General Hospital and two were transported to Salem Hospital.
Gustavo Santana, 31, of Lynn, was pronounced dead later that evening.
Mejia is being held without bail and will be arraigned in Salem Superior Court at a later date.
