BOSTON — A Saugus man pleaded guilty in federal court Monday to drug and firearm offenses.
Vinicius Teixeira, 31, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute controlled substances, including marijuana and psilocyn, and being a user of controlled substances in possession of a firearm and ammunition. He was indicted in April 2019.
A March 2019 search of Teixeira’s home recovered at least one kilogram of marijuana, more than 400 grams of dry mushrooms containing psilocyn, drug trafficking paraphernalia and an American Tactical 9mm-semiautomatic pistol containing 11 rounds of ammunition.
The drug charge provides for a sentence of up to 20 years in prison, at least three years and up to a lifetime of supervised release and a fine of up to $1 million. The firearm charge provides for a sentence of up to 10 years in prison, up to three years of supervised release and a fine of up to $250,000.
Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 25.
