Kings partners with Dana-Farber for breast cancer awareness month

September 24, 2021 by Allysha Dunnigan

Kings Dining & Entertainment is launching a partnership with The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in October to support Dana-Farber’s mission to provide adult and pediatric cancer patients with treatment and care while conducting advanced, cutting-edge oncology research.

In celebration of this new partnership, all Kings locations nationwide — with one located at MarketStreet Lynnfield — will be featuring Give 5/Get 5, where any guest who donates $5 to Dana-Farber will get a $5 Kings bonus card for their next visit.

Kings will also sell pink bowling socks for the month of October, with all proceeds being donated to Dana-Farber.

Kings will also host a special pink pin challenge, where it will make an additional donation to Dana-Farber when any guest tags their Kings location on social media and posts a video of themselves getting a strike while Kings’ special pink pin is the head pin.

Kings and Dana-Farber will work together on future partnership initiatives year-round at all Kings locations, including fundraising events and direct financial support for the institute.

Kings said this partnership reflects its ongoing commitment to, and company pillars rooted in, giving back to its communities and the causes that are important to its guests and teams.

Chief Operating Officer of Kings Leo Fonseca said they see this partnership as both an honor and an obligation to do their part to help eradicate cancer.

“So many of us have a personal connection to cancer and we’re fully invested in this partnership,” Fonseca said. “My mother was treated for breast cancer at Dana-Farber and I got to see firsthand the care and passion they have for treatment. I’m happy to say my mother is a cancer survivor and I know Dana-Farber was a big reason for that.”
