The Lynn Classical girls soccer team just refuses to lose on the field so far this season, keeping its unbeaten record alive with a 6-0 victory over cross-town rival Lynn English Tuesday afternoon at Manning Field.
Lauren Wilson led the offensive attack for the Rams with three goals, while Delaney Dana and Jayda Mateo each had one goal and one assist. Eliza Correnti had one goal, while Olivia Waterman and Ava Thurman each had two assists. Goalkeeper Anna Flaherty notched the shutout win in net.
“It was a great win for us against a tough English team,” said Classical coach Mike Schena. “(English coach) Abby (Driscoll) does a great job with her team over there and we’re happy to come away with the victory.”
Classical (7-0-2) hosts Somerville Thursday (4).
For English, Elysse Newson, Arianna Garcia and Anadia Whelton all played well in the loss.
“Classical is a strong team that was applying pressure offensively right until the very end,” said English coach Abby Driscoll. “I’m proud of our defense for not showing any quit, no matter what the scoreboard reflects.”
English (1-7-0) takes on Chelsea Thursday (4).
GIRLS SOCCER
Peabody 5, Beverly 0
Emily McDonough led the way with a hat trick for the Tanners, while Connie Patturelli and Logan Lomasney each scored one goal. McKayla Fisher served as the playmaker with three assists, while Maddie Scacchi notched one assist. Sam Simmons and Ava D’Ambrosio played well on the defensive end, while goalkeeper Emma Bloom recorded her fifth shutout of the season in net.
Peabody (3-2-2) travels to Danvers Saturday (5).
Nashoba 4, Lynn Tech 3
Helen Pojoy scored all three goals in the loss for the Tigers, while Sandy Garcia, Maria Barrios and Esther Nwokeji all played well in the loss.
Tech (3-7-0) hosts Matignon Thursday (4).

The Tanners won by set scores of 25-8, 25-15, 25-8.
Kristina Cardello had a solid game with 14 service points and four aces, while Michaela Alperen had 15 service points and three aces. Isabel Bettencourt had 11 kills and three aces, while Abby Bettencourt had a big game with 22 assists and four aces. Meg Price added three kills in the win.
Peabody (4-3) travels to Danvers Thursday (5:15).
Marblehead 3, Salem 0
The Magicians won in straight sets by scores of 25-10, 25-11, 25-15.
Keira Sweetnam led the way with nine kills, while Lilah Thompson had a solid game with six kills and three blocks. Setter Julia Potvin had 22 assists and five aces in the win.
