LYNN — Superintendent of Schools Dr. Patrick Tutwiler has addressed concerns regarding a recent TikTok challenge, which encourages followers to vandalize school bathrooms.
“Thankfully, this issue was isolated and infrequent in the LPS,” Tutwiler said. “I trust that our students will continue to make good decisions.”
Tutwiler listed additional challenges each month that call for students to engage in concerning and even illegal behavior.
A list circulating online suggests challenges for each month of the school year, including vandalizing bathrooms in September, as well as smack a staff member in October, kiss your friend’s girlfriend at school in November, deck the halls and show your b**** in December, jab a breast in January, mess up school signs in February, make a mess in the courtyard or cafeteria in March, “grab some eggz” in April, ditch day in May, flip off in the front office in June, and spray a neighbor’s fence in July.
“This is an opportunity to engage in a conversation with your student about the consequences of such behavior,” Tutwiler said. “None of it will be tolerated in the LPS or broader community.”
