LYNN — The Rotary Club of Lynn continued its support of My Brother’s Table last week by donating 50 lunches to the soup kitchen.
Each brown-bag lunch consisted of two peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwiches, a drink box, and a nourishing snack, according to Bill Reilly, past president of the Rotary Club.
“This is an ongoing need at My Brother’s Table, especially since they are restricted in how they can feed those in need,” said Reilly.
The service project continues the club’s ongoing effort to support the Lynn-based soup kitchen. Since COVID-19 restrictions began in March of 2020, the Rotary Club has made more than 5,000 sandwiches for My Brother’s Table; the Table has relied on volunteers to make and deliver brown-bag lunches during the pandemic, Reilly said.
Following the completion of the service project, the Rotary Club held its regular meeting last Thursday at Old Tyme Italian Cuisine.
