School Sports Roundup: Lynn Tech boys soccer takes down Mystic Valley

The Lynn Tech boys soccer team got itself back into the win column over the weekend, taking down Mystic Valley by a score of 6-1 at Manning Field Saturday afternoon.

Greg Amissi and Kevin Yumar led the offensive attack in the win for the Tigers, each scoring two goals. Erickson Licardie and Jason Robles each had one goal.

Tech (8-2-1) takes on Shawsheen Tuesday night (7).

BOYS SOCCER

St. John’s Prep 0, Revere 0

In a rare inter-conference battle, neither team was able to get any true scoring opportunities in the draw at Cronin Memorial Stadium Saturday morning.

St. John’s Prep (6-2-3) hosts Malden Catholic Tuesday (4).

Revere (4-4-5) hosts Boston Latin Monday morning (10).

Bishop Stang 1, St. Mary’s 0

Despite playing a strong game against a talented team, the Spartans came up just short on the road Saturday afternoon. 

St. Mary’s (4-6-2) hosts KIPP Monday afternoon (2).

GIRLS SOCCER

Bishop Fenwick 1, Central Catholic 0

The Fenwick girls kept their unbeaten season alive Saturday morning with a win on the road at Lawrence Veterans Memorial Stadium.

Ally Mitchell continued her strong season for the Crusaders with the lone goal of the game, while Aisling Hinchey notched one assist. 

Fenwick (5-0-4) hosts Arlington Catholic Wednesday (4).

Bishop Stang 8, St. Mary’s 1

Sophie Skabeikis scored the lone goal in the loss for the Spartans Saturday at Manning Field. 

St. Mary’s (5-5-2) plays on the road at Austin Prep Wednesday evening (6).

VOLLEYBALL

Bishop Stang 3, St. Mary’s 0

The Spartans nearly were able to force a third set on the road Saturday, but Stang was simply too strong and closed it out. 

St. Mary’s (5-8) will have nearly the entire week off before hosting Austin Prep Friday (5). 

Bishop Fenwick 3, Essex Tech 2

Senior captain Jessica Furtado had a big game for the Crusaders in the hard-fought victory Saturday. 

Fenwick (8-5) is off until Thursday (5:30) when it plays on the road at Arlington Catholic.
