School Sports Roundup: Lynn Classical volleyball finishes GBL season unbeaten

The Lynn Classical Rams girls volleyball team defeated Somerville 3-0 on Friday night.

The win moved the Rams to 16-0 and has Lynn Classical ending its GBL season undefeated at 14-0 in conference play. 

“It was a solid all-around effort with contributions from everyone on the roster,” said head coach Christopher LeBlanc.

Lynn Classical plays Lynnfield on Oct. 22, in a bout LeBlanc referred to as the biggest regular season game in program history.

VOLLEYBALL

Lynn Tech 3, Fellowship 0

In what was described as the Tigers’ best win of the season, Derlande Montas had 10 kills and 5 aces on Friday night.

Lynn Tech is now 6-6 this season

Melrose 3, Peabody 0

Kristina Cardello had 34 digs, but that wasn’t enough for the Tanners on Friday.

Peabody travels to Beverly on Monday.

FIELD HOCKEY

Masconomet 2, Marblehead 0

Even with Tegan Sherwood playing well, the Magicians came up short on Friday. 

Marblehead plays Greater Lowell on Monday (4:30).

Swampscott 1, Beverly 0

Sophia Ciciotti scored her first varsity goal as Swampscott is now 9-4-2 this season. The Big Blue play Marblehead on Wednesday.

GIRLS SOCCER

Marblehead 4, Boston Latin Academy 0

Cait Mullins, Samantha Dormer, Paige Fletcher and Annika Haley scored for the Magicians 

Marblhead is now 10-2-1 this season.

BOYS SOCCER

KIPP 7, Salem 3

Marco Escobar was the star of the night registering five goals.

KIPP plays Stoneham on Saturday (1).

Greater Lowell 2, Swampscott 1

Lucas Bereaud scored the lone goal for the Big Blue.

GOLF

Bishop Fenwick at CCL Championship

Tony Novack (69) and Connor Cunningham (73) found their way into the top ten with Leo Schroeder also shooting an 84 on Friday morning.
