The Peabody Tanners boys soccer team scored with five minutes left to lift the squad over the Beverly Panthers 2-1 on Tuesday evening in a match that should have never been played due to the poor weather conditions, according to Peabody head coach Stan McKeen.

After going down a goal in the first half, goals from Nathan Braz and Victor Maciel propelled Peabody past Beverly.

“(It was a) total team effort,” said McKeen. The coach also said that his squad refused to lose even in the middle of a nor’easter.

Peabody (7-8-1) now plays Saugus on Thursday (7). A win will put the Tanners into tournament play.
