LYNN — Lynn native Brandon Langley found out during the summer that he has stage 5 kidney failure and is in dire need of a new kidney in order to survive.
Langley, 34, works at Chelsea High School as a football coach and is also a professional wrestler, but has had to stop wrestling due to his health.
“He is a stand-up guy,” his mother, Adrena “Holly” Langley, said.
Langley’s kidney is currently functioning at 5 percent.
“Always in pain, always sleepy and feel like I might puke,” Langley said in a Facebook post. “This is gonna be the biggest thing I’ve done in my life.”
His mother sent out a message on social media, and to local media outlets, asking anyone who is willing to get tested to see if they are a match, or are able to donate a kidney to help save her son’s life.
“We understand that asking someone for a kidney is asking for a lot, but maybe you can think about this someone, anyone who may consider being tested,” Adrena said. “We would greatly appreciate it.”
Langley posted on Facebook expressing his appreciation for all of the love and support he has had since his mother posted about his condition.
His mother asked that people share this message and ask anyone they know who may be interested in finding out if they can donate a kidney to do so.
