After a regular season that saw her become one of the top outside hitters in the area, Marblehead junior Keira Sweetnam was named Northeastern Conference Player of the Year when the league announced its annual all-stars and awards this week.

Sweetnam — who notched more than 150 total kills in the Magicians’ 18 games — was one of three All-Conference selections for Marblehead, which finished the regular season at 14-4.

The other two Magicians on the NEC All-Conference Team were senior middle blocker Lilah Thompson and junior libero Cailtin Parkman.

The rest of the All-Conference Team was made up of Peabody sophomore setter Abby Bettencourt, Peabody junior outside hitter Isabel Bettencourt, Beverly junior middle blocker Natalie Reynolds, Masconomet junior setter Vanessa Latam, and Masconomet junior outside hitter Camryn Wettstone.

The NEC All-Star Team was split between the two divisions, which were renamed the Dunn Division and Lynch Division earlier this year.

The Dunn Division All-Stars included Kristina Cardello, Lauryn Mendonca and Sarah Broughton (Peabody); Nicolette Teti and Julia Potvin (Marblehead); Lindsey Byman and Catherine Faddis (Masconomet); and Tess Vontzalides (Danvers).

On the other side, the Lynch Division All-Stars included Nickole Fein and Anastasia Hayes (Swampscott); Fallon Millerick (Saugus); Anna Cantone and Natalie Wessell (Salem); Caroline Ploszay, Beatrice Lesser and Mya Perron (Beverly); and Megan Goudge (Winthrop).

Rounding out the award winners in volleyball this year was Peabody coach Lisa Keene, who was named NEC Coach of the Year after helping lead the Tanners to a 15-4 record, a Lynch Division title and a No. 14 seed in the Division 1 state tournament.
