The Northeastern Conference has announced its 2021 girls soccer all-stars and awards, and first-year Peabody head coach Andrew Douglass took home some hardware after he was named co-NEC Coach of the Year along with Masconomet’s Alison Lecesse.

Douglass had a great first season with the Tanners, helping to lead the girls to a 7-5-4 record (6-5-2 in the NEC) and a No. 23 seed in the Division 1 state tournament.

Taking home NEC Player of the Year honors was Danvers senior Arianna Bezanson, who also won the award the last time it was given in 2019. Bezanson had a stellar season for the Dunn Division champion Falcons, scoring 20 goals and adding nine assists. She was also named the Moynihan Lumber Student-Athlete of the Month for September.

Bezanson also had two teammates join her on the NEC All-Conference Team in senior Gabby Chisholm and sophomore Georgia Prouty.

The rest of the NEC All-Conference Team was made up of Peabody senior Emma Bloom, Peabody senior McKayla Fisher, Swampscott senior Maddie Hudson, Swampscott sophomore Victoria Quagrello, Marblehead senior Ella Kramer, Masconomet senior Elena Lindonen, Masconomet junior Taylor Bovardi, Beverly senior Kayleigh Crowell and Gloucester senior Darcy Muller.

The NEC All-Star Team was split between the two divisions, which were renamed the Dunn Division and Lynch Division earlier this year.

The Dunn Division All-Stars included Emily McDonough and Samantha Simmons (Peabody); Sophie DiGrande and Lilian Gosselin (Swampscott); Reese Pszenny, Eliana Anderson and Emily Goddard (Danvers); Lauren Boughner and Kendall Skulley (Masconomet); and Claire Brean (Beverly).

On the other side, the Lynch Division All-Stars included Maddie Goyetche and Jordan Morris (Saugus); Cait Mullins, Samantha Dormer and Talia Selby (Marblehead); Mia Martucci and Summer Tallent (Winthrop); Morgan Pennimpede and Abby Stauffer (Gloucester); and Isabella Cunha (Salem).

Gloucester was chosen for the Team Sportsmanship Award.
