A late touchdown sealed the No.12 KIPP football team’s fate as No. 4 Hull came out on top by a score of 27-20 in a Division 8 quarterfinal game Friday night.

Both sides traded touchdowns headed into halftime as the score was 14-14 after two quarters. The tight contest continued as KIPP scored first in the third quarter, but Hull’s Jaden Stilphen had a 30-yard rush to tie the game at 20-20.

Hull scored a touchdown with just over a minute left that proved to be the game winner.

“Both teams grinded until the very end,” said KIPP coach Jim Rabbitt. “While it wasn’t the outcome we wanted, this group worked hard all year to get to this point. Now it’s on to Thanksgiving.”

KIPP (8-2) will take on Lynn Tech on Thanksgiving Eve (6:30) at Manning Field.
