SAUGUS ― The new Planet Fitness coming to 325 Broadway is planning on opening in late December, according to the company.
Once open, the new club will be open and staffed 24 hours on weekdays, and from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The new gym in Saugus is nearly 27,000 sq. feet and features 121 state-of-the-art pieces of cardio equipment, 100 pieces of expansive strength and free weights equipment, free fitness training, a training area equipped with the PF 30-minute Express Circuit, a PF SYNRGY 360 Functional Training System including TRX equipment, kettlebells, and much more.
On top of that, Black Card members can take advantage of four salon-grade tanning beds, two red-light therapy booths, two HydroMassage loungers, and two massage chairs.
“This marks the 53rd location from our franchisee group and, as the largest franchisee in New England, we’re so excited to become a part of the Saugus community, especially after a year that reinforced how important both physical and mental wellness is for all of us,” said Brian Kablik, Planet Fitness franchisee. “Although we are the largest franchisee in the region, we are also very focused on each individual community where we have a club; we always aim to create a workout environment where everyone feels accepted and respected in our brand-new, state-of-the art fitness centers.”
Planet Fitness also is continuing to implement several enhanced cleanliness policies and procedures to protect the health and well-being of members, employees, and the local community due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes thorough cleanings using disinfectants on the EPA list effective against COVID-19, increased sanitization stations available throughout the gym floor, and touchless check-in via the free Planet Fitness app.
Additionally, Planet Fitness launched a “crowd meter” feature on its mobile app to allow members to check club capacity before coming into the gym.
“We’re very supportive here in Saugus of new businesses opening up and I just want to congratulate them and look forward to them serving Saugus residents and the community,” said Town Manager Scott Crabtree.
