SALEM — Police officers found the owners of The Scarlett Letter Press, Inc. dead inside their business at 10 Colonial Road, Suite 14 on Wednesday night.

Around 7:37 p.m., officers responded to the property to check on the well-being of Joshua and Rebecca Devries after they had not returned home.

Officers found the two inside, unresponsive and immediately started CPR, before care was transferred to the Salem Fire Department EMTs and Atlantic Ambulance paramedics.

Despite life-saving measures, Joshua and Rebecca were pronounced dead.

Foul play is not suspected at this time, but the incident is under investigation by detectives from the Salem Police Department Criminal Investigations Division and State Police assigned to the Office of Essex County District Attorney Jonathan W. Blodgett.
