BOSTON ― A 34-year-old New York man pleaded guilty in federal court on Monday to his role in a drug-distribution conspiracy, which transported heroin, fentanyl and cocaine from New York to Lynn.
Wilkin Cedano, of Brooklyn, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 100 grams or more of heroin, cocaine and 40 grams or more of fentanyl.
Per the U.S Attorney’s office, from November to December 2019, Cedano conspired with others to transport fentanyl and 1,000 pills containing controlled substances from New York to Lynn for sale to a cooperating witness.
Cedano met with the cooperating witness in December 2019 in the parking lot of a Market Basket in Lynn, where he presented two packages of fentanyl wrapped in cellophane and two pill bottles. He was subsequently arrested and his car was searched by authorities. The search found a plastic bag tucked beneath the steering column that contained additional controlled substances. In total, 938 pills were recovered that contained fentanyl or a mixture of heroin and fentanyl.
Cedano was charged on Nov. 16, 2021.
The charge of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 100 grams or more of heroin and cocaine and 40 grams or more of fentanyl provides a sentence of at least five years and up to 40 years in prison, at least four years and up to a lifetime of supervised release and a fine of $5 million.
U.S. District Court Chief Judge F. Dennis Saylor IV scheduled sentencing for March 31, 2022.
