Girl looks to help her sisters

Alena Kuzub

December 20, 2021 by Alena Kuzub

We all know that Santa favors the kids who have been nice all year, and he’s not so fond of the naughty. Item Santa received a politely-written letter from a special little girl who is definitely on the big guy’s nice list. Not only was she writing to Santa for herself, but in regards to her sisters’ Christmas presents as well.

“Dear Santa,” she wrote. “I know that Christmas is coming and my sisters are ready.”

And because her sisters always fight over sharing their toys, she asked him to bring some new toys to them for Christmas. She suggested some dolls and a doll play house.

“It is not for me,” the girl pleaded.

However, she did mention that she would like a pack of slime or some makeup, but she wasn’t sure.

“Have a wonderful Christmas and happy New Year’s,” she wrote. “And on New Year’s, it’s my birthday. Thank you!”

Do you think you could help Santa a little and make this girl’s simple wishes come true?

Now in its 55th year, the Item Santa fund helps to make Christmas brighter for the needy. To donate, clip the coupon in The Item and mail it, along with your check, to The Item Salvation Army Santa, 85 Exchange St., Lynn, MA 01901.

There is also a way to donate online through the Salvation Army at itemsanta.org.

All donations are listed in Item print editions through the month of December and into 2022, along with a brief message from each donor, if desired.

NOTE: The application period for aid from Item Santa has closed and The Item does not process applicants. All questions about the program and distribution of gifts should be directed to the Salvation Army at 781-598-0673.
