NSCC is now offering no-cost COVID-19 testing in Lynn

LYNN — No-cost COVID-19 testing for students, staff and the public at North Shore Community College’s Lynn campus is now available through a partnership between NSCC and Curative Healthcare Services, Inc.

The testing schedule is identical to the college’s school schedule and will be closed during days off and weather closures. The site will be open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The college’s parking lot off of Washington Street is the primary entry point for people using the testing site, and a PCR-testing trailer provided by Curative is located there.

All NSCC staff and students who study on campus or visit will be required to provide proof of vaccination starting Jan. 3, 2022. The school will provide hybrid, video-conference and online courses as well.

NSCC Interim Vice President of Student Affairs Stephen Creamer said that with the uptick of cases in Lynn, the college is working alongside Curative to provide testing that is accessible for students and staff.

“We appreciate the opportunity to partner with Curative to offer COVID-19 testing, especially as cases are surging again,” said Creamer. “Testing, masking, and vaccinations are the only way for our communities to keep some sense of normalcy during this difficult time.”

Curative has operated other public and private clinics on the North Shore, such as the mass-vaccination site at the DoubleTree Hotel in Danvers.

Tracy Cassidy, the deputy project manager of Curative’s Massachusetts and Maine branches, said that rapid COVID-19 testing will help save lives and expand outreach with other communities to provide mobile clinics.

“When the pandemic escalated in March 2020, we decided to focus on creating a rapidly scalable COVID-19 testing process to help flatten the curve and save lives,” said Cassidy. “With a growing network of over 13,000 sites across 18 states and three CLIA certified, high-complexity labs, we have been partnering with communities across the U.S. to provide testing through turn-key programs, streamlined patient experiences, and scalable infrastructure.”

Appointments for testing can be made at http://book.curative.com/sites/34109.
