SAUGUS — The body of a 40-year-old Woburn woman was found off of the Salem Turnpike in Saugus on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Essex County District Attorney’s office.

The DA’s office said foul play is suspected in the death of Sherell Pringle, who was reported missing by her son when she did not return home on Saturday night.

On Tuesday, she was found in a marsh along Route 107 northbound in the vicinity of 63 Salem Turnpike, the DA’s office said.

“They found my daughter,” Sherell’s mother, Pearl Pringle, told the Boston Globe. “She’s gone.”

Pringle was reported missing on Sunday after her family couldn’t contact her, police said. Early on Monday morning, officers found Pringle’s cellphone in a storm drain in Lynn.

After receiving notice of her death, Pringle’s family rushed to the crime scene in Saugus. Several police officers, including Saugus Police and Massachusetts State Police troopers were on scene.

Pringle was supposed to spend Saturday night with her boyfriend, 44-year-old Bruce Maiden. Prior to her body being found, police in Woburn and Lynn said they were looking to talk to Pringle’s boyfriend about her disappearance.

“She spent the day with her mom and told her she was going out on a date. That was it. Nobody heard from her,” Aeisha Pringle, Sherell’s cousin told The Boston Globe. “This is what it is, she was found, and she was found dead.”

No arrests have been made in connection with Pringle’s death. The Essex County District Attorney’s Office; the Essex and Middlesex State Police Detective Units; and Lynn, Saugus and Woburn Police are investigating. This is an active and fluid investigation, said the DA’s office, which will release more information as it becomes available.

Maiden is potentially driving a maroon 2014 Toyota Avalon with the license plate 3NSC21. The car isn’t registered in his name. Anyone with information should call Woburn Police Detective Jeff Carreau at 781-933-1212 ext. 4856 or Lynn Police Lt. Chris Kelly at 781-477-4436.
