SAUGUS — The boyfriend of  a 40-year-old Woburn woman found dead on the side of a Saugus highway on Tuesday has been arrested, the Essex County District Attorney’s office said.

Bruce Maiben, 44, of Lynn, has been charged been larceny over $1,200, tampering with evidence and obstruction stemming from an investigation into the death of Sherell Pringle. The facts and circumstances into Pringle’s death remain under investigation, but the DA’s office said foul play is suspected.

Maiben is expected to be arraigned in Lynn District Court on Thursday. He was arrested by the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section on Wednesday afternoon, the DA’s office said.

Pringle was found dead in a marsh along Route 107 northbound in the vicinity of 63 Salem Turnpike. She had been reported missing by her son when she did not return home on Saturday night; Pringle was supposed to spend that evening with her boyfriend, Maiben, according to her family.
