SAUGUS ― A new Planet Fitness facility is now open at 325 Broadway.
The facility held its opening day events on Dec. 30 and is holding multiple promotions and events to start the new year. From Jan. 1 through Jan. 6, new members can join for $0 down and $10 a month, with the ability to cancel anytime.
“We are super excited to be a part of the Saugus community,” said Regional Manager Sharon Kilpatrick. “We’ve been trying to find a location for quite some time, so (we’re) finally happy to be here and the feedback has been nothing but excitable. Everyone’s really happy we are here.”
The new Planet Fitness in Saugus is nearly 27,000 square feet and is the largest fitness facility in Massachusetts, according to Kilpatrick.
“We are pretty excited to brag about that,” she said.
The facility features 121 state-of-the-art pieces of cardio equipment, 100 pieces of expansive strength and free-weights equipment, a dedicated stretching and abdominal-workout area, a training area equipped with the PF 30-minute Express Circuit, a PF SYNRGY 360 Functional Training System including TRX equipment, 28 LED TVs with wireless connections to all cardio equipment, private locker rooms adorned throughout with upscale architectural tile and granite, private changing areas, day lockers, modern individual showers, and more.
“This marks the 53rd location from our franchisee group and, as the largest franchisee in New England, we’re so excited to become a part of the Saugus community, especially after a year that reinforced how important both physical and mental wellness is for all of us,” said Brian Kablik, Planet Fitness franchisee. “Although we are the largest franchisee in the region, we are also very focused on each individual community where we have a club; we always aim to create a workout environment where everyone feels accepted and respected in our brand-new, state-of-the art fitness centers.”
Planet Fitness continues to implement several enhanced cleanliness policies and procedures to protect the health and well-being of members, employees, and the local community, including thorough cleanings using disinfectant effective against COVID-19, increased sanitization stations available throughout the gym floor, and touchless check-in via the free Planet Fitness app. Additionally, Planet Fitness launched a “Crowd Meter” feature on its mobile app to allow members to check club capacity before coming into the gym.
Kilpatrick added that the gym hopes to offer a safe space for residents to work out.
Founded in 1992 in Dover, NH, Planet Fitness is one of the largest and fastest-growing franchisors and operators of fitness centers in the United States by number of members and locations.
