LYNN — The boyfriend of Sherell Pringle, whose body was found in a marsh near Route 107 in Saugus in December, was charged with her murder on Tuesday in Lynn District Court.

Bruce Maiben, 44, of Lynn, was ordered held without bail at his arraignment, with Judge Jean Curran entering a plea of not guilty on his behalf, according to the Essex County District Attorney’s office.

Maiben is accused of murdering Pringle, 40, of Woburn.

Pringle’s teenage son reported her missing after she did not return home from a date with Maiben on Saturday, Dec. 18.

Pringle’s family led a search for her, finding her phone in a sewer in Lynn.

They continued searching the Lynn and Saugus area for Pringle, and found her purse on the side of the highway. Family members then walked throughout that area, and eventually located her body in a marsh in Saugus on the Tuesday after she went missing.

Maiben is also charged with larceny of more than $1,200, tampering with evidence and obstruction of justice.

Maiben was represented by Attorney John Morris.
