The Lynn Classical girls basketball team put forth a full team effort Thursday afternoon, picking up a 51-19 victory over Chelsea in a Greater Boston League bout on the road.
Keisha Perez led the way for the Rams with 11 points, while Manuela Lizardo notched five points. In all, 15 players got into the game for the Rams and every one of them found their way into the scoring column.
Classical (8-1) will turn right around and play a road game against Everett Friday (7).
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Masconomet 58, Saugus 43
Despite the loss, the Sachems got a strong performance from Fallon Millerick (17 points). Peyton DiBiasio added 12 points in the loss. Jessica Bremberg had a solid game off the bench, contributing four points and playing solid defense.
Saugus (3-4) plays on the road at Marblehead Friday (7).
Revere 32, Somerville 14
The Patriots capped off a stretch of five games in eight days with a victory on the road at Eugene C. Brune Fieldhouse.
Revere (6-4) hosts Lynn Classical Tuesday (6).
BOYS BASKETBALL
Lynn English 67, Malden 56
Freshman Denzell Guillen had a huge game for the Bulldogs with 26 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Jesse Maggs put up 11 points and eight rebounds in the win, while Lewel Beato added 10 points and six assists.
English (7-2) travels to Medford Tuesday (6).
Saugus 54, Essex Tech 49
The Sachems held off a late push from Essex Tech to pick up the win at home.
Ryan Mabee had a big game with 25 points while Tyrone Manderson added 15 points in the win. Jeury Barbosa scored nine points.
Saugus (4-2) has a quick turnaround with a game against Marblehead Friday (7).
Chelsea 53, Lynn Classical 52
The Rams battled and kept it a game until the final seconds, but Chelsea was able to hold on to secure the win.
Derek Omoregie had a solid game in the loss with seven points and 10 rebounds.
Classical (4-5) hosts Revere Tuesday night (7).
BOYS HOCKEY
St. John’s Prep 2, Reading 1
After Reading came back to tie the score late in the third period, the Eagles pulled out the win thanks to a game-clinching goal by Ben McGilvary with six minutes to play.
Jake Vana added one goal in the win, while Jimmy Ayers, Jeff Melanson and Will Van Sicklin each had one assist.
St. John’s Prep (8-1-0) hosts Catholic Memorial Saturday afternoon (2).
SWIMMING
Lynn Classical 90, Lynn English 56
The Rams celebrated their Senior Night prior to the victory, honoring Ethan Wilson, Isaiah Diaz, Matthew Bushway, Michael Baez, Sarah Banville, Kassidy Chhoeuth, Merdi Ifufa, Felix Pol, Ashley Hughes, Kristen Johnston, Giuliano Imbriano, Yassine Bakhouch, Aleana Benedetto, Sydney Finnigan and Daniel Puma.
Puma and Camille Mendonca were both double-winners for Classical, Puma winning the 200 individual medley and the 100 butterfly and Mendonca winning the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle. Other winners for the Rams were Benedetto in the 100 freestyle, Sydney Finnigan in the 100 backstroke and Ava Anderson in diving.
In the relay events, the team of Benedetto, Mendonca, Bakhouch and Andrew Moore also earned a victory in the 200 freestyle relay.
