The Marblehead boys hockey team brought its offense to the rink in a big way Monday night, picking up a 7-2 win over Haverhill on the road at Veterans Memorial Rink.
After falling behind 2-1 in the first period, Marblehead rattled off the final six goals of the game to take home the win.
Marblehead (5-5-1) plays at home against Masconomet Wednesday (6:30).
Leading the way on the offensive side for Marblehead was Eli Feingold, who scored three goals in the win. Connor Jalbert, Lyndan Dyer and Aidan Ryan each scored one goal, while Jacob Aizanman scored his first career varsity goal in the victory.
GIRLS HOCKEY
St. Mary’s 2, Matignon 1
Jenna Chaplain scored two goals in the win for the Spartans, while Amanda Forziati scored one goal in a Catholic Central League bout at Connery Rink.
St. Mary’s (7-2-2) is off until Saturday (6:20) when it hosts Hanover (N.H.).
BOYS BASKETBALL
Peabody 56, Triton 40
The Tanners jumped out to a 15-3 lead in the first quarter and never looked back en route to a home victory Monday night.
Anthony Forte continued his strong season with 17 points and eight rebounds, while Luke Roan was close behind with 13 points and nine rebounds. Colin Berube (eight points, five rebounds), Shea Lynch (six points, six rebounds, four assists), Danny Barrett (six points, five steals) and Nick Soper (six points, four assists) also played well in the win.
Peabody (9-4) turns right around for a road game against Swampscott Tuesday night (7).
Manchester-Essex 80, Saugus 71
Saugus (6-5) plays on the road at Gloucester Tuesday (7).
Medford 62, Revere 54
The Patriots were led by junior guard Domenic Boudreau, who finished with 13 points, five rebounds and three steals in the loss. Senior forward Jack D’Ambrosio added 12 points.
Revere (5-5) is off until Thursday (7) when it hosts Chelsea.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Lynn Tech 58, Pioneer Charter 34
The Tigers picked up their fourth consecutive victory with the win on the road Monday.
Dayana Hios-Edwards put up a double-double in the win, finishing with 13 points and 16 rebounds to go along with four steals and four assists. Lilly Cote led the team with 14 points and two steals, while Aliyah Volquez notched 13 points and three rebounds. Jayleen Novas (eight points, seven rebounds) and Nyari Lane-Benjamin (eight points) also played well in the win.
Tech (8-4) plays at home against Greater Lawrence Tuesday evening (5:30).
Lincoln-Sudbury 45, Peabody 42
Lauryn Mendonca and Taylor Bettencourt each had nine points in the close loss, while Emma Bloom put up eight points and five assists.
Peabody (11-2) hosts Swampscott Tuesday night (7).
SWIMMING
Lynn Tech 84, Blue Hills 81
With Monday’s victory, Tech finished the season at 6-2 and won the Commonwealth Athletic Conference championship.
It all came down to the final race for the Tigers, who took first and third place in the 400 freestyle relay to squeeze out the close win.
Tech had two double-winners on the day, with Zakariya Bidoudane winning the 100 backstroke and the 200 individual medley and Alberto Gerardo winning the 50 freestyle and the 100 freestyle. Addisyn Brown rounded out the individual winners with a first-place finish in diving.
In the 400 freestyle relay, the team of Bidoudane, Colin Donovan, Mario Rivera and Brandon Zarate took first place while the team of Addisyn Brown, Kailey Brown, Isibella Celona and Morgan Bourgeois finished in third place to put the Tigers over the edge.
