LYNN — A Jeep Wrangler had to be freed from a snowbank on the Lynnway by a tow truck after the driver, a 30-year-old Salem woman, crashed into it on Tuesday afternoon, State Police said.
At 2:09 p.m., State Police responded to the area of 580 Lynnway on a report of a 2011 Jeep Wrangler that had driven into, and was stuck, in a snowbank.
The driver told police that she was traveling in the right lane when it suddenly narrowed significantly because of the snow. She said she could not move over into another lane because another vehicle was in the lane to her left, State Police said.
A truck from McGarvey Towing winched the Jeep out of the snowbank. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) responded to remove some of the snow from the Lynnway and widen the travel lane, State Police said.
The woman was not injured in the crash and State Police had cleared the scene by 2:45 p.m.
