The Swampscott boys basketball team has been red-hot for more than a month now, as the Big Blue picked up their ninth consecutive victory Tuesday night with an 84-57 win over Winthrop in a Northeastern Conference bout.
“I think the biggest thing about how we reacted when we were 2-4 early in the season is that we didn’t hang our heads,” said Swampscott coach Jason Knowles. “The guys showed up every day, worked hard and never quit. Behind great leadership from our captains Cam O’Brien, Mick Ross and Evan Roth, we’ve really been playing well.”
