St. John’s Prep won the Division 1 North sectional championship for the third year in a row, holding off a fierce challenge by Central Catholic of Lawrence.
Individual championships went to Alex Schaeubin in the 113-pound category, Tyler Knox (126), Rawson Iwanicki (152), and Jack Blizard (220).
In second place were Elias Hajali (120), Adam Schaeublin (132), Matt Mitchell (170), and Zach Richardson (182).
Heavyweight Charlie Smith was third while Ryan DeSouza (145) and Marc Pineiro (195) were fifth.
Iwanicki was named outstanding wrestler while Coach Manny Costa was named Coach of the Year.
St. John’s moves into the individual state tournament next weekend.

BOYS HOCKEY
Lynn 4, St. Joseph 3 (0T)
At Connery Rink, senior captain Jaylen Porter had a hat trick, including the winner on a rebound of a shot from the point by senior captain Stevan Downey with 1:07 left in overtime.
Senior alternate captain Devin Copithorne added a goal and two assists for the Jets (3-13), who pulled out the non-league victory.
Danvers 4, Marblehead 4 (OT)
Goaltender Griffin Winter provided just enough defense for Marblehead throughout the third period to hold Danvers off from tallying the win. Marblehead coach Chris Wells commended Winter on his excellent defensive ability late in the game, and just chalked up yesterday’s tie to his guys “not having their legs under them.”
St. John’s 7, Newburyport 2
In the annual Lt. Derek Hines Memorial Game at the Essex Sports Center in Middleton, Junior center Jimmy Ayers had two goals and an assist, and sophomore right wing Jake Vana added two goals for the No. 3 Eagles (14-3).
Junior right wing Will Van Sicklin, junior center Paul Santosuosso, and sophomore left wing Cam Umlah added goals.

Austin Prep 3, St. Mary’s 0
Senior defenseman Maeve Carey scored twice, pacing the No. 1 Cougars (17-0) to a Catholic Central League win at Connery Rink in Lynn. Senior captain Isabel Hulse also scored.

St Mary’s 100, Mt. Pleasant (R.I.) 42
St Mary’s overwhelming win over Mt. Pleasant was led by Ali Barry’s 32 points, hitting 7-for-15 from beyond the arc. David Brown Jr. also contributed to the dominating performance by adding 16 points of his own while on limited time. Going forward, St Mary’s views itself as 0-0 going into the Catholic Central League tournament, coach David Brown said.
Revere 56, Medford 53
Center Hamza Ghoul paved the way for Revere’s win over Medford by tallying 14 points and 14 rebounds. Revere only scored 19 points in the first half, but after halftime and some adjustments, the team came out guns blazing and scored 37 points in the second half. Forward Ramadan Barry contributed to the victory by adding 11 points of his own and three 3-pointers in the fourth quarter.

Winthrop 44, Marblehead 40
Going into the second half, Marblehead was up by four, that was until Winthrop coach Joe Lowe was able to turn the tide and ended the game with the win.
Marblehead coach Paul Moran said has a long history and friendship with Lowe and is proud of the program he is building in Winthrop.

At St. John’s, senior forward Kyle Webster poured in 20 points as the Eagles raised their record to 7-8.
Senior Jacob Mercedes added 15 points.
Manchester-Essex 51, Lynnfield 32
At Lynnfield, Gavin Deluties had 11 points and Cam Marengi eight as the Pioneers finished their season with a 1-19 record.
Charlestown 88, Tech 37
At Madison Park in the second annual Black Coaches Classic, forward Jayden Welch had 15 points and 13 rebounds while Ederick Gonzalez had 12 points and 10 rebounds for Tech, which fell to 2-9.

Fenwick 62, Williams 44
At Williams, senior captain Nasha Arnold had 15 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists to lead the way for the Crusaders, now 13-5 (10-2 in the Catholic Central League).
Sophomore Ella Andrews had nine points and 10 rebounds and Junior Erica Lendall added 15 points.
Sophomore Cecilia Kay had 10 points and eight rebounds, and senior captain Maria Orfanos had nine points and five assists.

At Masco, the Sachems, 6-9-1, got their lone goal from Chris Regnetta with assists from Jason Monahan and Jason Caron.
Goalie Matt Smith made 38 saves.
Fenwick 5, Andover 2
At Tewksbury, the Crusaders bounced back from Saturday’s tie with St. Mary’s with a solid effort over Andover.

At Shawsheen, Talia Martucci had the hat trick for the Vikings and goalie Summer Tallent scored her 53rd career win with 10 saves.
Sam Dimento, Lily Tallent and Amanda Coffey had a goal apiece.
