The Saugus boys basketball team scored a dramatic win at Essex Tech Monday night, 44-41, thanks to the heroics of Tyrone Manderson, whose father, Titus, was once the head varsity coach for the Sachems.
Manderson, in addition to hitting for 14 points, knocked home the game-winner in overtime, a three-pointer with 14 seconds left that made the score 42-41. Moments later, Manderson sank two free throws to cement the game.
Also getting into the scoring column for Saugus were Ryan Anderson (nine points) and Ryan Mabee (eight points).
Saugus raised its record to 7-9.
