LYNN — A city resident was stabbed at Logan Airport early Tuesday morning during a fight between two American Airlines employees.
Two male American Airlines employees were engaged in a physical altercation when one of them stabbed the other with a multi-use tool, said David Procopio, spokesperson for the Massachusetts State Police.
Massachusetts state troopers assigned to Logan Airport responded to an assault report at 1:30 a.m. on the ramp side of Terminal B. They found the victim, a 38-year-old Lynn man, alert and conscious.
The victim was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The troopers located the suspect, Kenric Smith, 34, of Leominster, on the second level of Terminal B. They recovered a Leatherman multi-use tool from Smith, Procopio said.
Smith was arrested for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and booked at the Logan Airport Barracks. He was arraigned on Tuesday in East Boston District Court, Procopio said.
Evidence suggests the stabbing was solely the result of the dispute between the two men and that the safety of the public and other employees was not threatened, said Procopio.
