One night after losing a tough game to Everett, the Classical boys basketball game rebounded in a big way — with a 66-60 win at Revere.

“Big win on the road,” said coach Marvin Avery. “I’m just so proud of these guys. They played a great game, and it was a great win after the other night.”

The big gun for the Rams was senior Jadden Gonzalez, who had 30 points. Almani Medina had 10 points and Naate Reyes pulled down 12 rebounds.

Classical is in action this weekend in the Spartan Classic.

Malden Catholic 81, St. John’s 66

At Malden, the Eagles fell to 9-10. Kyle Webster led the Prep with 20 points while Jacob Mercedes had 15.

Marblehead 74,  Essex Tech 45

Overall a great defensive effort for Marblehead gave them the victory over Essex Tech while celebrating the team’s Senior Night.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

The Big Blue got back in the winning column with a huge night from senior Chloe Rakauskas. Rakauskas had 25 points including seven three-pointers; senior Angela Spathanas chipped in with six points and 12 rebounds; senior Paige Quagrello had four points and nine rebounds, and senior Maddie Hudson had seven assists.

Swampscott moves to 8-10 on the season and will play at Lynn Classical on Saturday.
