LYNN — Natasha Payano, a Dominican who was raised in Lynn, plans to open a juice bar downtown this April.

Verde Juice Bar, which will be located at 139 Munroe St., is the first business venture for the 29-year-old, as she seeks to bring health and wellness to her hometown.

“Acknowledging the importance of wellness, especially during a pandemic, led me to open up Verde,” Payano said.

Opening her own business has always been an idea for Payano, but she initially had doubts; she said it once seemed to be unattainable.

“I worked so hard for so long and decided it was time to work for myself,” she said.

Verde Juice Bar on Munroe Street will be her first location. She said she chose this spot in Lynn because it was her obligation to bring a fresh start to the city.

“A start where not only me, but my community will all benefit from,” she said. “Lynn is where my support system really is and I’m excited to embrace it.”

The goal of Verde is to offer fresh juices and smoothies filled with nutritional content, to support and strengthen one’s immune system.

Payano said she hasn’t always been a health nut or expert, but she became interested in holistic and natural remedies a few years ago.

With fruits and vegetables being the main source in these remedies, Payano said she thought opening a juice bar made perfect sense.

“Health is wealth,” Payano said.

Payano is opening Verde to help and encourage people to live a healthy and balanced lifestyle. She hopes her business will make this lifestyle more accessible to community members.

“It’s been a long and delayed process due to COVID-19, but we are aiming for a grand opening in April,” Payano said. “I appreciate all the patience and support I’ve received already, (and) look forward to seeing what Verde can do for the community.”
