LYNN — The word “free” is something that will intrigue just about anybody, and that is exactly what Lynn Youth Hockey is trying to do.
Lynn Youth Hockey is a proud participant of “Try Hockey for Free Day”, which is sponsored by USA Hockey.
The Lynn event is being held at Connery Ice Arena at 190 Shepard St. on Saturday, March 5, from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
Lynn Youth Hockey is inviting all boys and girls ages three and up to come and have fun on the ice for “Try Hockey for Free Day.” All participants must have a helmet, and bike helmets are okay for families who don’t have a hockey helmet. There will be limited free skates available for use as well.
“Hockey is for everyone. We are looking to give an opportunity to families who thought they didn’t have the income to support hockey,” said Lynn Youth Hockey President and Lynn Jets head coach Brian Boisson, who is taking charge of organizing this event. “The program does a lot to take away costs for the kids to participate, whether it’s by providing equipment or paying tuition so that kids can play.”
This event is for everyone (regardless of skill level) to come out and have the opportunity to learn how to play hockey.
