LYNN — A snow-emergency parking ban will go into effect in Lynn beginning at 9 p.m. Thursday.
Residents can move their vehicles to designated city parking lots, which can be found at www.lynnma.gov/departments/publicworks_winter.shtml, beginning at 4 p.m.
With this parking ban, no vehicles can park on a public street, sidewalk or at the end of dead-end streets.
People parking in these areas can face a $170 cash-only tow fee, $150 ticket and $35-a-day storage fee. If towed, the tow-lot entrance is on Centre Street, behind the Western Avenue Fire Station.
Trash pickups will also be delayed by the storm. If your original trash days were Thursday or Friday of this week, your trash will now be picked up on Saturday.
Due to the snowstorm, your trash may be picked up late into Saturday evening or possibly not until Monday. The city asks to “please be patient and leave your trash out if it is not picked up.”
City Hall and the Lynn Public Library will also be closed on Friday due to the storm, and will only be open to snowstorm essential employees.
The City Hall vaccination clinic will also be closed.
